120th anniversary ceremony for DEWE Brünofix
All employees of the group and their families, as well as numerous guests of honour from the worlds of politics and business, were invited to the ceremony marking 120 years of DEWE Brünofix.
Managing Director Ralf Schmidt welcomed employees and their families, as well as representatives from politics and business, to an extraordinary celebration, because in addition to the anniversary of DEWE Brünofix, we were also able to honour the 30th anniversary of ELZI Entsorgungslogistik and the 65th anniversary of Weiss Forming Tools, both members of the Weiss Group.
Putting the invisible ones in the spotlight – this was the motto of Ralf Schmidt's speech, which he began by introducing the entire entrepreneurial family, spanning three generations. The invisible ones also refer to the employees who ensure smooth operations day after day, but are hardly noticed by the public.
In his speech, he followed a timeline beginning in 1905 with the company's founding by Reinhold Schüler in Liebertwolkwitz, near Leipzig. A year in which Kaiser Wilhelm II was the German head of state and the marshalling yard and opera house were built in Nuremberg.
His speech took him to the present day and beyond, offering an outlook on the future. He linked this with clear words addressed to politicians and society. He did not spare his criticism of the bureaucracy and challenges facing a company and what it means to make it fit for the next generation.
In their welcoming speeches, Member of the Bundestag Ralph Edelhäußer, Member of the Landtag Volker Bauer, Deputy District Administrator Edeltraud Stadler and Mayor of the municipality of Rednitzhembach Jürgen Spahl took the criticism on board and promised to do their utmost to bring about improvements. Felix Lehnhoff from the Unternehmerfabrik in Roth presented a certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in special recognition of 120 years of dedicated entrepreneurial activity.
As a family business, we also consider our company to be a family. Accordingly, we value not only our active employees but also our retired employees. And so we were able to thank Gunda Hammer with a bouquet of flowers. She had her first day at DEWE Brünofix 59 years ago and still participates in our company's celebrations today as a pensioner.
